No, I didn’t spend that much…I spent $91 on what would have cost that much! I recently got a job (yayy) at a local very tasty Zagat rated restaurant called Masa as a hostess/maitre d’ (that sounds nicer…) and I have to look nice so I went shopping for some clothes at Goodwill in Boston. It’s HUGE and recently redone so it’s gorgeous and really well stocked and organized. I have a cold and look gross so all my finds are displayed on hangers today.

HOLY CRAP! What a haul! Truly amazing, I’m inspired! I’m going thrifting on Friday and I can only hope I get that kind of result! :)
Great job! You must have one incredible Goodwill in Boston! Where I live there is one in Monterey CA, (population 25,000?) and Seaside (population 13,000?) so I’m sure ours are MUCH smaller and we have more of a challenge finding as much as you did on one trip.
One good thing about the thrift stores in the town I live in though, (there are 7 in a town of maybe 14,000, we are getting to be known as Thrift Store City!) is that we are next door to Pebble Beach. PB is a private, gated community known partly for it’s world class golf courses, and MANSIONS! My point here is that these rich folks donate their expensive stuff to our shops so we do find some incredible finds. Plus with so many stores so close I can almost always find what I’m looking for in one of them. My favorite pastime. <3
wow! that’s incredible. i really only have 1 within walking distance to me so that’s great! thrifting in wealthy areas can lead to some serious scores…i actually did a post about it in the past. glad to have your comment :)
I will look through your archives and see if I can find that post! If I can’t find it I know I will enjoy just reading your posts too!
thank you! it was seriously exciting because it was my first time thrifting in my new city…thank god it went well because i’d be so sad if there wasn’t good thrifting here! good luck to you…can’t wait to see what you find!
Wow, ok first of all so glad you got James a Northface hahaa! he’ll need it! AAANDDD I love your finds, WHOAH! The Max and Cleo and Anthropologie dresses kind of remind me of a dress that Amy poehler wore for one of the Parks and Rec interviews…With the blonde hair I bet you could look like her in those!!! CONGRATS on the job and feel better soon! (sorry this is such a long comment lol)
i know!!! he kept saying he would be fine with a hoodie and i went ahead and stepped in haha. omggg i miss your enthusiasm…we need a reunion soon! i’m currently trying to figure out the public transport here and it reminded me of our adventure on the buses that day :)
OMG that was SOO fun! The Boston metro is way better (the T lol) than LA, but still public transit is sooo fun! And yeah we’ve really gotta get a reunion going…more to come lol ;-)
Welcome to Boston! What a great haul! I think you’ve inspired me to stop by goodwill on the way home:) I found your blog through Goodwill Boston on twitter. Hooray!
thank you! loving this city so far :) glad you found the blog and i hope you find some great stuff!
I checked out the one in Davis Square with my husband the other day, and it was AWESOME! Definitely smaller than what I am used to, but the selection was fantastic! Which one did you go to?
good to know! i went to the one on huntington nearish the south end.
all i can say is WOW! especiall the calvin klein shoes and the jessica simpson boots! coveting!
ah thanks! i have worn the CK shoes soooo much and they are very comfy.
OooOOoooooh I love those boots!! Great haul!!!
thank you! i’m very excited to wear them…still haven’t haha
its all super gorgeous!!! Great finds!
Great haul! I am in love with all of those dresses! My local goodwill is awful. Actually, most of the goodwills around me are awful. When I lived in VA I would ALWAYS shop at the goodwill. They had three within 30 miles of each other.
